Inauguration Ball FAQ

Where and when is the official Inaugural Ball happening? 

The Official Inaugural Ball will be held on Monday, January 8th at 7:00 PM. It will take place at the Raising Cane’s River Center, located at 275 S River Rd, Baton Rouge, LA 70802. Security entrances for the Ball will open at 6pm. 

Where can I park for the ball? 

Parking is available in the East and West parking garages located on St. Louis Street. Parking is complimentary for this evening beginning at 5pm. 

Will there be a covered area for drop-off?

Covered drop-off is at the main entrance at St. Louis Circle.

What do I need to bring to be admitted to the ball?

Each person must have their own ticket (either printed or on their phone) and a government-issued I.D. that matches the name on the ticket. Note that ball tickets are separate from tickets to Sunday’s ceremony. 

Will there be a coat check? 

There will be a coat check option available upon arrival to the Raising Cane’s River Center. 

Will there be food at the event?

Over 20 of Louisiana’s best restaurants are cooking up a storm for our black-tie guests.

Will my inauguration ceremony ticket work for the inauguration ball entry?

No, the inauguration ceremony ticket and the inauguration ball ticket are two different tickets and cannot be interchanged. 

What if I bought a ticket but I’m unable to attend? 

The tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable 

What items will NOT be allowed at the ball? 

No backpacks (clear or regular), duffle bags, or large to normal-sized purses.
No alcohol, coolers/ice chests, bottles, cans, or cups. (This includes flasks or any other type of container)
No gifts for the Governor, First Lady, or any other guests.
No umbrellas are allowed.
No portable phone battery packs
No pocket knives (will NOT be returned if confiscated) 

What items WILL be allowed at the ball? 

Only small hand held sized clutch bags will be allowed. Please ensure they are no larger than 4.5” x 8.5”, approximately the size of a hand with or without a handle or strap. 

What is the dress code for the inaugural ball? 

The ball is a formal event. Tuxedos or black tie and formal floor-length gowns are required for entry, and the dress code will be enforced. 

What are the age restrictions? 

This is an adult event. Guests under the age of 18 may be prohibited from entry.
